I have not wrote for well over a month now. Alot has happened. I went back home after being at my mothers and my aunt and Peter made me go to the ER. That tummy pain got extremely worse. When I got there, they hooked me up to an IV and started fluids. Eventually they did a cat scan and found out that I had an absyss under my main incision so they called the surgeon on call.. Everything happened so fast...They gave me pain meds, then they gave me twilight. He cut me open and I felt this hot liquid run down my stomach to my back. I guess he packed it with gauze but I don't remember that part. The next day I had to go to the DR and he stuck his hands inside the open wound, I FREAKED out!!! So they gave me new meds for the infection and sent me home with an open wound that I had to pack with gauze and change 2xday. I stayed at my aunts for about a week after this had happen. This whole time, all I wanted was to be with my family in MN.. I cried everytime my mother called me.
I went to the DR every Monday.. sometimes 2x wk. I was feeling nauseous every time I tried to eat or drink.. they gave me a med for that.. but that also caused me to be dehydrated so I had to go in for 2 big bags of fluid. The next day I had a fever so I went back in to see the nurse. She said my fluids were still low and I needed potassium. It took them 5 times to get the IV in, every time they tried, they'd blow a vein. Eventually a flight nurse had to come up from the ER and do it for them.. so after my bag of fluid, they needed to draw some blood... well due to my veins blown, the nurse had to take it from the capillary of my index finger, OMG did that hurt!
I was off a total of 7 wks..I am finally back to work and I feel like I can make it thru. My boss allows me to wear comfy pants b/c I still have my open wound. I am hoping to find out next Monday if I can let the wound close b/c it is getting alot smaller. I am currently at 40 lbs down!! I cannot wait to go swimming again! I don't want saggy skin! Skinny girl should be here in a year lol!
